Rowan County Detention Center & Jail Annex
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office operates the local detention system. The main Detention Center uses a direct-supervision model and has 210 beds. Why Someone May Not Appear in the Rowan County Inmate List
- Recheck the spelling. Search the legal surname and try fewer fields if the first search was too restrictive.
- Confirm the arrest county. Salisbury-area activity does not guarantee that the person was booked into Rowan County.

The county states that, after a period of 72 hours, people already determined by the judicial system to have bonding conditions but who have been unable to meet those conditions may be considered for Pretrial Services.
The program says it focuses primarily on people with bonds of $5,000 or less and primarily on misdemeanors and Class H or I felonies, while allowing other situations to be considered when directed by the courts. These are program criteria, not a promise that any individual will qualify.

- Polaroid photos are not accepted.
- No glitter, glue, tape, 3D elements or electronic greeting-card components.
- No contraband or prohibited sexual, gang, illegal, violent, drug or alcohol-related content.
- Do not send original birth certificates, driver’s licenses, Social Security cards, Green Cards or irreplaceable original photos because physical scanned mail is destroyed.
- Books, magazines and packages must not be mailed to the scanning center; packages require prior jail-administration approval.
- Do not put cash, checks or money orders in mail sent to the scanning center.
Accepted non-legal mail is scanned and made available on the detainee’s tablet. Rowan County says the physical correspondence is then destroyed.
