Pima County Jail Inmate Lookup 2026: Bond, Visits & Records

Independent Pima County custody search guide

Use the Pima County Jail Inmate Lookup Before You Pay Bond, Visit or Send Money

The Pima County Sheriff’s official inmate lookup is the correct starting point when you need to know whether someone is currently held in the Pima County Adult Detention Complex.

Search the legal last name, confirm the current custody record, then use the correct Pima County source for bond, court records, video visits, mail, inmate funds, phone service, property or jail records.

Custody, charges, bond, release information and facility rules can change. Verify current information through the linked official source before paying, travelling, mailing anything or making an important decision. An arrest, booking, charge or jail listing does not establish guilt or conviction.

Quick Answer

Use the Pima County Sheriff’s Inmate Lookup Public View for current county-jail custody. The Sheriff states that the roster contains only people currently in the custody of the Pima County Adult Detention Complex and is updated regularly.

The official search begins with the person’s last name. If someone no longer appears, do not automatically assume there is no case: the person may have been released, transferred, moved into Arizona state custody, moved into federal custody or no longer be part of the current-custody roster.

Pima County Jail Locations

The Sheriff lists two correctional facilities. Do not assume that every Pima County custody question should be handled at the downtown Tucson court or Sheriff headquarters.

Main facility

Pima County Adult Detention Complex

1270 W. Silverlake Road Tucson, AZ 85713 Jail: 520-351-8111 Visits Hotline: 520-351-8114

The public inmate lookup is described by the Sheriff as listing individuals currently held in the Pima County Adult Detention Complex.

Western Pima County

Ajo District Jail

1249 W. Ajo Well Road Ajo, AZ 85321 Phone: 520-387-8511

If an arrest occurred in the Ajo area and the online lookup is unclear, contact Ajo District Jail directly rather than assuming the Main Jail has the person.

Holiday note: the Sheriff states that correctional-facility front desks are closed on county holidays. Jail custody operations and public-counter availability are not the same thing.

How to Use the Pima County Jail Inmate Lookup

  1. Open the official Pima County Sheriff inmate lookup. Use sheriff.pima.gov/inmate rather than a copied mugshot or people-search page.
  2. Enter the legal last name. The official search form asks for the inmate’s last name.
  3. Review every matching result carefully. Common surnames can return more than one person, so do not identify someone from a name alone.
  4. Save the useful jail identifiers. Note the booking number, name number, pod or housing location and bond/court information when the official record displays them.
  5. Confirm the person is still in custody. The official lookup is a current-custody roster, not a permanent arrest-history database.
  6. Use the correct task-specific page next. Bond, court, mail, visits, phone, money and property each have separate Pima County rules.
Current-custody limit: the official Sheriff roster says it contains people currently in PCADC custody. It is not a historical booking database or final criminal-history report.

Booking Number, Name Number and Pod Location

Pima County uses several jail identifiers for different services. Save them when the official result provides them.

Identifier Where it matters Do not confuse it with
Booking number Mailing address, jail records requests and custody matching. A court case number.
Name number Phone services and some jail-account functions. The booking number.
9-digit phone PIN GTL AdvancePay telephone setup; the Sheriff says zeros may need to be added before the name number to make nine digits. A bank PIN or account password.
Pod location Required in the Sheriff’s published inmate-mailing format. A public street address or permanent housing guarantee.
Court reference / case number Used to follow the criminal case with the correct court. The jail booking number.
Privacy: the official jail or court may use date of birth to distinguish people, but this independent guide should not republish a full birth date as an SEO field.

What the Official Roster Does — and Does Not — Mean

Sentenced

Some People Are Serving Sentences

The Sheriff states that the current roster can include people who have been sentenced.

Other jurisdiction

Some Are Held for Another Agency

A Pima County housing location does not necessarily mean Pima County controls every hold or eventual release decision.

Accused

A Charge Is Not a Conviction

The Sheriff’s own lookup states that the roster includes people who stand accused but have not been convicted.

What to Do if the Pima County Inmate Lookup Shows No Result

  1. Recheck the surname. Use the legal last name and reasonable hyphenation or spelling variants.
  2. Remember that this is a current-custody lookup. Someone previously booked but released may no longer appear.
  3. Consider intake timing. A very recent arrest may still be moving through booking, court appearance or housing assignment.
  4. Check the correct facility. If the arrest is connected with western Pima County, contact Ajo District Jail when appropriate.
  5. Check the court separately. A criminal case can continue even after the person leaves jail custody.
  6. Check Arizona DOC after a state transfer. County-jail custody and state-prison custody are separate systems.
  7. Check federal custody if genuinely relevant. Use BOP or the appropriate federal-court source rather than repeatedly searching the county roster.
  8. Call the jail for an urgent current-custody question. Main Jail: 520-351-8111.
No result does not prove there was no arrest, no case or no custody elsewhere. It can reflect release, transfer, another jail, state prison, federal custody or a current-system limitation.

Pima County Bond and Release Information

Pima County accepts bond at the Adult Detention Complex’s Inmate Accounts Office and through approved electronic channels. Verify the current inmate, exact case and every hold before paying.

24-hour options

Bond Agents and Lobby Kiosks

The Sheriff states that surety and currency bonds posted by bond agents are taken 24 hours a day, and cash/card transactions can be made at Main Jail lobby kiosks 24 hours a day.

Online / phone

TouchPay

Credit and debit bond transactions are accepted through the Sheriff-linked TouchPay route and by phone at 1-866-232-1899. Electronic-payment fees apply.

Public counter

10 a.m.–5 p.m. Daily

The Inmate Accounts public counter currently lists the same 10 a.m.–5 p.m. hours seven days a week.

In-Person Bond Rules

  • Cash, cashier’s checks and money orders are accepted at the Inmate Accounts Office.
  • The public counter requires the exact bond amount because jail staff does not make change.
  • ID validation is required for bonds.
  • Electronic services charge fees.
  • The Sheriff is not permitted to recommend a bail bond company.

Release Timing After Bond

The Sheriff currently says most bond transactions are processed within an hour, but actual release processing may take up to five hours. People are processed for release between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.; the Sheriff states that releases do not occur between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.

Bond does not guarantee immediate release. Another warrant, court order, agency hold, supervision matter or administrative process can still affect the release.

Pima County Court Records: Justice Court vs Superior Court

The jail lookup tells you about custody. The court tells you about filed charges, hearings, court orders and disposition. Pima County uses different court systems depending on the case.

Justice Court

Pima County Consolidated Justice Court

240 N. Stone Avenue Tucson, AZ 85701 Customer Service: 520-724-3171

The public Justice Court system can search by name, case number or complaint number.

Important limitation: felony cases and certain protected matters are not available through the Justice Court online search.

Search Justice Court Cases ↗

Superior Court

Clerk of the Superior Court

110 W. Congress Street Tucson, AZ 85701 Public Records Services: 520-724-3240

The Clerk provides a Public Record Search with limited Pima County Superior Court case information and also links users to Arizona eAccess.

The Clerk says document information may take approximately three business days after filing to appear online.

Superior Court Case Records ↗

Arizona eAccess: statewide eAccess includes Superior Court civil and criminal records, but for Pima County criminal cases its published coverage begins with cases filed on or after July 1, 2015. Some sealed, confidential or otherwise restricted records are excluded.

Pima County Initial Appearances

The Sheriff currently lists video initial appearances twice daily:

Morning Court

9:00 a.m.

Initial appearance is conducted by video rather than transporting the person into the courtroom.

Evening Court

7:00 p.m.

If a judge orders release, jail processing begins after the court session and may still take several hours.

Pima County Jail Video Visitation

Pima County currently conducts ordinary social visits by video. On-site and remote visits follow different procedures.

On-site

One Free Visit

The Sheriff currently allows one free 30-minute on-site visit per inmate each week.

Extra on-site

$9 for 30 Minutes

Additional on-site 30-minute visits are currently listed at $9 per inmate, per day.

Remote

$0.25 Per Minute

Remote GettingOut visits can last up to 15 minutes at a time and are currently priced at $0.25 per minute.

Scheduling

1–7 Days Ahead

On-site visits must be scheduled one to seven days in advance. Same-day walk-in visiting is not accepted.

When Visiting Becomes Available

The Sheriff states that a person may receive visitation after making a first court appearance and being assigned to a permanent housing unit. Disciplinary lockdown can suspend visits.

Remote Visit Now

Remote video uses ViaPath/GTL GettingOut. An incarcerated person can initiate a remote Visit Now call through a GTL tablet, so that specific remote service does not require the visitor to reserve a normal on-site slot in advance.

Visitor Requirements

  • On-site visitors report to the Main Jail front desk 15 minutes before the scheduled visit.
  • Bring current photo identification.
  • No more than four people may visit at one time.
  • Visitors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Personal non-privileged video visits are subject to monitoring and recording.
  • Dress, conduct and device restrictions apply to both remote and on-site visits.
Schedule warning: the Sheriff’s current visitation page displays Monday–Friday 8:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m. and a second line written as “Sunday through Saturday: 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.” Because that second day label is internally inconsistent, use the live scheduler or call the Visits Hotline at 520-351-8114 to confirm the exact day and time before travelling.

Pima County Jail Mail, Postcards and Publications

Pima County uses a specific mail process. Do not address inmate mail to the Sheriff headquarters or copy another Arizona jail’s instructions.

Inmate’s Name Pod Location Booking Number P.O. Box 951 Tucson, AZ 85702
Personal postcards

Maximum 4.25 × 6 Inches

Incoming postcards cannot be altered, wrapped in plastic, contain glitter or include prohibited sexual, weapon or gang-related content.

Digital copy

Original Is Not Delivered

Incoming postcards are copied digitally or on paper for delivery. The Sheriff states the original postcard is destroyed after 14 calendar days.

Publications

Publisher / Distributor

Magazines, newspapers and soft-cover books must come directly from the publisher or a widely accepted distributor.

Packages

Incoming packages normally require prior authorization at least five days before shipment. That prior-authorization requirement does not apply to qualifying books and publications sent directly from a publisher or widely accepted distributor.

Money Orders or Government Checks Sent by Mail

If an envelope contains an acceptable money order or government check, add “Inmate Trust Account” to the mailing address. The Sheriff warns that other mail enclosed in that same trust-account envelope, such as a personal note, will not be delivered and will be returned.

Legal-mail boundary: ordinary personal-mail rules should not be assumed to apply to confidential attorney communications. Use the current jail or attorney channel for legal correspondence.

Inmate Funds, Trust Accounts and Commissary

Inmate-account deposits and bond payments are separate transactions. Make sure you are funding the correct account before paying.

Method Current Pima County rule Important note
Inmate Accounts counter Open 10 a.m.–5 p.m., seven days a week. Valid government photo ID is required.

U.S. paper currency Accepted for the value deposited. No change is given.
Coins Not accepted for inmate-account deposits. Use an approved alternative.
Online deposit The Sheriff links to the GTL financial-services / TouchPay route. Third-party transaction fees may apply.

Pima County Commissary Packages

The Sheriff’s current jail navigation links its Commissary Ordering service to PimaCountyPackages.com. Use that Sheriff-linked route rather than searching for an unrelated commercial jail-package website.

Open Sheriff-Linked Commissary Ordering ↗

Scam warning: never send money because someone on the phone, text message or social media claims an immediate jail payment is required. Verify the person in the official inmate lookup and verify the payment route on the Sheriff website first.

Pima County Jail Phone Calls and Voicemail

Pima County currently uses GTL / ConnectNetwork AdvancePay for inmate telephone service.

AdvancePay

Prepaid Phone Account

Friends or family need sufficient funds in the appropriate AdvancePay account for inmate calls to connect.

The Sheriff says the inmate’s name number is converted to a 9-digit PIN by adding leading zeros when needed.

AdvancePay: 800-483-8314

Voicemail

Leave a Message

Voicemail system: 520-448-3426

Messages can currently be up to two minutes long. The Sheriff lists a cost of $2 per voicemail, deducted from the AdvancePay account and non-refundable.

GettingOut Tablets, Messages and Photos

ViaPath/GTL GettingOut provides tablets at the Adult Detention Complex for approved communication, education and entertainment services.

Messages

Friends and family can exchange approved electronic messages through GettingOut. Premium communication features require the appropriate account funding.

Photo Sharing

Approved photos can be shared using the GettingOut service, subject to jail content restrictions.

PIN Debit

The Sheriff states that the incarcerated person needs funds in the PIN Debit account for certain premium tablet services.

Ordinary inmate calls, electronic messages and personal video visits may be monitored or reviewed. Do not treat ordinary correctional communications as confidential attorney-client communication.

Inmate Property Release and Court Clothing

An incarcerated person must initiate a property release by submitting the jail’s Inmate Property Transaction form. Only the person named on the authorization may receive the released property.

Property Pickup

The Sheriff currently lists public property pickup Monday–Friday from 8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m., closed weekends and holidays.

The same official page also contains a broader operating-window reference for the Property Unit, so call before travelling when timing matters.

Property information:

Court Clothing

A person with an active Superior Court trial may have up to three sets of clothing for court appearances under the current Sheriff rules. Clothing exchanges are like-for-like and certain items are prohibited.

Property not picked up within 45 days after an inmate transfer may be disposed of under the current Sheriff policy. Verify the deadline and authorization before travelling.

Victim Case Status and Release Notifications

Pima County currently offers a Sheriff-operated Victim Information Portal. It is separate from the public inmate lookup and requires a valid case number to access eligible case information.

Pima Sheriff Victim Information Portal

The portal can provide eligible victims with case information and may allow automated email or SMS notifications related to the case.

The Sheriff warns that some updates can take up to 48 hours to become available.

How to Request a Pima County Jail Record

The public inmate lookup answers a current-custody question. A historical booking or jail report requires a separate records request.

Jail Records Request

Pima County Adult Detention Complex Attn: Jail Records Requests 1270 W. Silverlake Road Tucson, AZ 85713 Message Line: 520-351-8228

The request form asks for the inmate’s full name and can also use date of birth, name number, booking number and housing location when available.

Current Jail-Report Fees

  • Reports: $5 each.
  • More than 20 pages: additional $0.25 per page.
  • Printed photos and certain media have separate fees.
  • Large production requests may incur a production fee after the first hour.
Restricted, sensitive or non-public material may not be released. The Sheriff states that records can be reviewed for investigative, privacy and victim-information restrictions before disclosure.

Before You Pay, Visit, Send Mail or Publish a Pima County Jail Result

  • Use the official Sheriff inmate lookup first.
  • Remember that it covers current custody, not every historical booking.
  • Match more than a surname when several people appear.
  • Save the booking number, name number and pod location when relevant.
  • Use the court — not the jail roster — for case disposition.
  • Check Justice Court and Superior Court separately.
  • Verify every hold before assuming bond produces release.
  • Recheck the visitation scheduler before driving to Silverlake Road.
  • Use Pima County’s own P.O. Box 951 mail instructions.
  • Do not confuse inmate-account money with bond payments.
  • Use the Sheriff-linked commissary provider rather than a search-engine ad.
  • Do not treat an arrest, charge or custody listing as proof of guilt.
Reliable Pima County workflow: official inmate lookup → confirm current custody → save identifiers → check the correct court → verify the current jail rule → complete the task through the official service.
