Arizona County Jail Inmate Lookup & Roster Search 2026

Independent Arizona custody search guide

Arizona County Jail Inmate Lookup: Choose the Right County Before You Search

Arizona does not have one universal public roster for all 15 county jails. A recent local arrest usually belongs with the sheriff or detention agency in the county of arrest, while a state-prison sentence belongs with the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry.

Use this guide to find the correct county route, understand 2026 access changes, separate jail custody from court records, and verify the current facility before you pay, mail, visit or travel.

Independent guide: JailInmateSearches.org is not affiliated with an Arizona sheriff, county jail, detention center, court, ADCRR, VINE, the Federal Bureau of Prisons, ICE or a tribal government. Custody status, charges, bond information, release information and facility rules can change. Confirm current information through the linked official source before paying, travelling, mailing anything or making an important decision. An arrest, booking, charge, jail listing or booking photograph does not establish guilt or conviction.

Fast Answer

For a recent Arizona arrest, start with the county where the person was booked. Arizona’s county jails are operated through separate local systems, so there is no single statewide county-jail roster that reliably replaces all 15 county sources.

If the person has moved into Arizona state-prison custody, use ADCRR Inmate Data Search. Use the Arizona Judicial Branch separately for filed criminal cases and court events, BOP for federal prison custody, and the appropriate tribal or federal authority when the arrest did not enter a county-jail system.

Arizona Public Inmate Lookup Access Is Not Uniform in 2026

Do not assume every Arizona sheriff publishes the same type of live roster. Current county pages show several different models: direct searchable databases, downloadable or published housing lists, phone-based inmate information, and public-search tools that have been disabled or placed in an uncertain status.

Mohave County

Public Search Turned Off

Mohave County’s official inmate-search page says the tool has been turned off to comply with newly established legal requirements and recent court rulings. The Sheriff’s Office currently directs visitors to inmate information published through its press releases.

Check Mohave’s current official notice ↗

Pinal County

Direct Search Is Active; Older Page Says Offline

Pinal County’s direct inmate-search endpoint currently presents a current-inmate search and says data updates every 60 minutes. An older official county inmate-search page still says public search functions were paused. Use the active endpoint, but confirm through Adult Detention if a bookmarked county page gives a different status.

Open Pinal Inmate Search ↗

Coconino County

No Website Inmate List

Coconino County explicitly says inmates are not listed on its website. For current housing at the Flagstaff or Page detention facility, call 928-226-5200, choose the language menu, then option 1 for inmate information.

Read Coconino jail FAQs ↗

Why this matters: a third-party page may continue showing an old “inmate search” button after a county changes its public-access method. Start from the current government or sheriff page each time instead of bookmarking an old vendor or search-result URL indefinitely.

Arizona County Jail Inmate Lookup Directory

Use the county connected to the arrest or booking, not simply the person’s home address. The “method” column describes the official route verified during this review; it does not mean every county publishes the same fields or retains released-person information for the same period.

Arizona county Official starting point Current lookup route / status Useful note
Apache Apache County Sheriff ↗ County custody resource The Sheriff page links an “Inmates Currently in Custody” resource and jail/visitation information.
Cochise Cochise Detention Division ↗ Detention / contact route Main jail is in Bisbee, with temporary holding facilities in Sierra Vista and Willcox. Confirm the current location before visiting or mailing.
Coconino Coconino Jail FAQ ↗ Phone inmate information No inmate list is published on the website. Call 928-226-5200 and use option 1 for inmate information.
Gila Gila County Sheriff ↗ Jail Bureau / inmate information The Sheriff’s current site provides Jail Bureau and Inmate Information routes. Use the local jail information path rather than ADCRR for a recent Gila County booking.
Graham Graham Adult Detention ↗ Detention / contact route The county detention facility holds pretrial detainees and county-sentenced inmates; verify custody directly through the detention source.
Greenlee Greenlee Sheriff resources ↗ Sheriff jail resources The current county page links arrest-log, bail-agent, commissary, victim-notification, visitation and inmate-mail resources. Sheriff phone: 928-865-4149.
La Paz La Paz County Sheriff ↗ Sheriff / detention route The official sheriff site is application-based and may require JavaScript. Confirm the current inmate-information route through the Sheriff’s Office rather than relying on a copied roster.
Maricopa Maricopa County Sheriff ↗ MCSO inmate information Use the Sheriff site and its Inmate Information route for Phoenix-area county-jail custody. MCSO main line: 602-876-1000.
Mohave Mohave inmate-search notice ↗ Search tool disabled The county says the search tool is off; current inmate lists are being posted through Sheriff’s Office press releases.
Navajo Navajo Inmate Housing Report ↗ Housing report The official Detention section provides an Inmate Housing Report and separate inmate-information pages.
Pima Pima County Sheriff ↗ Inmate Lookup The Sheriff’s site links an Inmate Lookup for people currently held in the Pima County Adult Detention Complex.
Pinal Pinal Adult Detention ↗ Direct search currently active The direct inmate-search endpoint currently says it updates every 60 minutes. An older county page still says search was paused, so confirm with Adult Detention if access changes.
Santa Cruz Santa Cruz Detention Division ↗ Detention / contact route The Arizona Sheriff’s Detention Center phone is 520-761-7875. Avoid confusing this county with Santa Cruz County, California.
Yavapai Yavapai Online Inmate Search ↗ Search by last name The official search is timestamped. A special notice says John/Jane Doe bookings cannot post bail until identity is established through the detention fingerprint process.
Yuma Yuma Inmate Web Portal ↗ Searchable portal Search by name, subject number or booking number, and filter for in-custody status. YCSO says the public data updates periodically and may contain errors or omissions.
Tribal-jurisdiction reminder: parts of Arizona include tribal lands and tribal justice systems. A county roster may be the wrong place when the arresting or detaining authority is tribal or federal. Start with the agency that made the arrest or the court/facility named in the paperwork rather than assuming county custody.

How to Find Someone in an Arizona County Jail

  1. Identify the arrest location. Find the city, town, reservation area or county where the arrest occurred. A home address does not tell you which jail has custody.
  2. Determine the custody level. A recent local arrest usually points to a county jail; a state-prison sentence points to ADCRR; a federal case may point to BOP or U.S. Marshals-related custody.
  3. Open the county’s current official route. Use the directory above because some Arizona counties use a live search while others publish a list, require a phone inquiry or have changed public web access.
  4. Search with the strongest identifier available. Start with the legal last name and first name. Use a booking, inmate, subject or other official number when the county tool supports it.
  5. Match more than the name. Compare booking date, age or date-of-birth information when lawfully displayed, facility, subject/booking number and related court information. A photo alone is not proof of identity.
  6. Check the court separately. Use Arizona court records for the filed case, hearing information and case progression. A jail charge field is not the final case disposition.
  7. Reverify immediately before the next action. Confirm the current facility and its current rules before paying bond, mailing a letter, funding an account, scheduling a visit or driving to the jail.

Which Arizona Jail Identifier Should You Save?

Identifier What it usually belongs to Why it helps
Booking number A particular jail booking or custody episode. Useful for distinguishing similar names and handling jail-specific tasks.
Inmate / prisoner ID The county detention system or facility. May be required for mail, account funding, phone or visitation services.
Subject number A local records/jail-management system. Yuma’s public portal, for example, supports Subject Number searches.
ADCRR number Arizona state-prison records. Use it in ADCRR rather than a county-jail search after state placement.
Court case number The court record. Use it to track the criminal case; it is not a jail booking identifier.
BOP Register Number Federal Bureau of Prisons records. Use it for federal custody, not an Arizona county jail.
Do not publish sensitive identifiers casually. An official lookup may ask you to enter a date of birth or other identifying information to distinguish records. That does not mean an independent article should republish someone’s full birth date, home address or other unnecessary personal data.

How to Read an Arizona Jail Roster Result

Fields vary by county. Treat the roster as a custody-navigation tool, not a complete criminal-history report.

Roster field Useful meaning What it does not prove
In custody The local system currently flags the person as held when the database last updated. That the housing location will remain unchanged or that no transfer is pending.
Booking date When the local booking event was entered. The date of conviction or final disposition.
Housing facility The facility attached to the current jail record. That the person will still be there when you arrive.
Charge An allegation or charge recorded in the jail/case process. Guilt, conviction or the final charge after court review.
Bond / bail amount A displayed financial condition associated with a case or custody record. That payment alone will produce immediate release.
Scheduled release date A date displayed by a system based on current information. A guaranteed release time or freedom from other holds.
Booking photograph A photo associated with an arrest/booking when lawfully displayed. Guilt, current custody, current appearance or final case outcome.

What to Do When the Arizona Jail Search Shows No Result

1. Name

Search More Broadly

Try the last name with fewer filters, then check spelling, hyphenated names, former names and suffixes.

2. Timing

Allow for Intake

A recent arrest can involve transport, identification, medical screening, court processing and data entry before a public record appears.

3. System

Check Another Custody Level

If county custody is no longer likely, check ADCRR, BOP, ICE or the relevant tribal/federal route.

4. Access

Check the County’s Current Method

Mohave and Coconino show why a missing online roster can reflect the county’s publication method, not a release.

  1. Recheck exact spelling and search with fewer filters.
  2. Try an official booking or inmate identifier when known.
  3. Confirm the correct Arizona county and the arresting agency.
  4. Check for recent-booking delay if the arrest was very recent.
  5. Check ADCRR if a state-prison transfer or sentence may have occurred.
  6. Check BOP if the matter is federal.
  7. Check ICE only when immigration detention is genuinely relevant.
  8. Check tribal or federal authority when the arrest occurred in a jurisdiction that did not enter county custody.
  9. Use VINE or victim-notification resources where the responsible agency participates.
  10. Contact the official detention facility if the web route is unavailable or current custody remains unclear.
No result does not prove release. It can mean a booking delay, transfer, name mismatch, a different county, a changed public-search method, state custody, federal custody, immigration detention, tribal custody or a record that is not publicly displayed.

Arizona Court Records, Charges and Bond Are a Separate Check

A county jail record tells you about custody. The court record tells you about the filed case. Use both when you need to understand charges, hearing activity, case numbers or disposition.

Case lookup

Public Access to Court Information

The Arizona Judicial Branch says its public case-search service covers participating courts statewide; its Self-Service Center currently describes coverage as 177 of 184 courts. Some courts or portions of their case populations are unavailable through the statewide site.

Court documents

eAccess

eAccess provides online Superior Court civil and criminal case records filed on or after July 1, 2010; Pima County criminal records begin July 1, 2015. Probate, juvenile and family/domestic-relations records are not provided through eAccess, and sealed or restricted material remains unavailable.

Available documents may carry per-document or subscription charges, with certified documents costing extra.

Open eAccess Information ↗

Bond / release

Verify the Court and Jail

Arizona does not have one statewide county-jail bond-payment rule. The amount or bond field shown by a jail may not reflect every case, warrant, detainer or release condition. Verify the court record and the holding facility before paying.

Charge ≠ disposition: a booking charge may later be amended, reduced, dismissed, superseded or resolved in another way. Use the court record for the filed case and final disposition rather than describing the jail’s initial charge as the final outcome.

When to Use ADCRR Instead of a County Jail Search

Use the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry Inmate Data Search when the person is in Arizona state-prison custody rather than a county jail.

State prison

ADCRR Inmate Data Search

ADCRR’s official search is the correct statewide source for its prison population. If a recent county booking disappears after sentencing or transfer, state custody may be the next system to check.

Open ADCRR Inmate Data Search ↗

Release-date caution

Do Not Treat the Date as a Guarantee

ADCRR expressly warns that release dates and release types shown in its inmate data have not been verified or audited by the Department and are subject to change. For offense details, ADCRR directs users to the case file at the Clerk of the Court where the case was adjudicated.

Important ADCRR mail restriction: ADCRR warns that people in its custody may not receive downloaded or copied inmate-record information from the Department’s inmate-data website except for the limited record access allowed by law. Do not mail a printed ADCRR inmate-search record to someone in ADCRR custody; check the current Department rule before sending correctional-record material.

Visiting, Mail, Phone and Money Rules Are County-Specific

There is no safe statewide vendor list for Arizona county jails. A provider used in Tucson may not be used in Flagstaff, Bisbee, Holbrook or another detention center, and routing rules can change during construction or contract changes.

Pima example

Visits Need Advance Scheduling

Pima County’s current jail page says visits must be scheduled at least one day in advance and same-day walk-in visits are no longer accepted. That rule should not be copied onto another county’s page.

Cochise example

Mail Routing Changed in 2026

Cochise County announced that beginning March 16, 2026, standard non-legal friends-and-family mail must go to a scanning address in Highland Heights, Kentucky, while legal-representation mail and money orders use the Bisbee jail address.

Check current Cochise mail instructions ↗

Navajo example

Personal Mail Is Scanned

Navajo County says personal mail is delivered electronically through TextBehind scanning. Mail sent through the scanning service is digitized for tablet delivery and the physical mail is destroyed after scanning; personal mail sent directly to the detention facility is not accepted.

Before Using Any Jail Service

  • Recheck the inmate’s current county and facility.
  • Use the facility’s current official visitation page before scheduling or travelling.
  • Use the exact current mail address and include the identifier the jail requires.
  • Open money/commissary vendors only from the responsible sheriff or detention page.
  • Do not trust an unsolicited text, social-media message or phone call asking for gift cards, cryptocurrency or an unfamiliar payment site.
  • Remember that paying an approved bond or deposit is not the same as confirming release.

Arizona VINE and Post-Conviction Victim Notifications

Local custody alerts

Arizona VINE

Arizona government victim-service pages direct users to Arizona VINE for custody-status information and automated notifications. The published Arizona VINE phone number is 1-866-892-4542, and notification options can include phone, email, text or the VINELink app.

Agency participation and the events available through VINE can vary, so do not use VINE as a substitute for the holding jail when immediate verification is required.

Federal, ICE and Tribal Custody Require Different Sources

Federal prison

Tribal jurisdiction

Start With the Arresting Authority

Arizona includes tribal justice systems and reservation lands. If the booking never entered a county jail, identify the arresting law-enforcement agency, detention facility or court named in the paperwork and use that authority’s official contact route.

Arizona County Jail Inmate Lookup FAQs

Is there one official Arizona county jail inmate search for all 15 counties?

No. Arizona county-jail custody is decentralized. Search the sheriff or detention system for the county connected to the arrest or booking. Use ADCRR separately for Arizona state-prison custody.

How do I find someone arrested recently in Arizona?

Start with the county where the arrest occurred. Open that county’s current sheriff or detention route, search by legal name or an available booking identifier, then use Arizona court records separately for the case. A very recent arrest may not appear immediately while intake is still being processed.

Why can’t I find a Mohave County inmate search?

Mohave County’s official page currently says its public inmate-search tool has been turned off to comply with newly established legal requirements and recent court rulings. The Sheriff’s Office directs users to inmate information published through its press releases.

Is the Pinal County inmate search online or offline?

The direct Pinal County inmate-search endpoint is currently active and says it updates every 60 minutes, while an older official county page still says the search was paused. Use the active official endpoint, and confirm through Adult Detention if a bookmarked county page gives a different status.

How do I find an inmate in Coconino County?

Coconino County says inmates are not listed on its website. For a person housed at the Flagstaff or Page detention facility, call 928-226-5200, select the language option and then option 1 for inmate information.

What is the difference between an Arizona county jail search and ADCRR?

A county jail search is generally for local detention such as recent arrests, pretrial custody and county sentences. ADCRR is the state-prison system. A recent county arrest should not automatically be searched as an ADCRR case.

Where do I check Arizona criminal court cases?

Use the Arizona Judicial Branch Public Access to Court Information for participating courts. For eligible Superior Court documents, eAccess provides a separate document-access service. When statewide access is incomplete, verify with the court or Clerk of Superior Court that maintains the case.

Does a bond amount on an Arizona jail roster guarantee release?

No. A displayed bond amount may not show every case, warrant, detainer or release condition, and payment still must be processed by the correct court and jail. Verify the full release situation before paying.

Does no result mean the person was released?

No. A missing result can reflect intake delay, another county, transfer, a changed county-publication method, state or federal custody, tribal or immigration custody, a spelling mismatch or a record that is not publicly displayed.

Can I register for Arizona inmate release notifications?

Arizona government victim-service pages direct users to Arizona VINE and VINELink for available custody-status notifications. The Arizona VINE phone number published by local Arizona government victim-service offices is 1-866-892-4542. Participation and available events can vary by agency.

Reliable Arizona search order: identify the arrest county → use that county’s current official route → match the correct record → check the court separately → check ADCRR/BOP/ICE/tribal custody only when applicable → reverify the facility before taking action.
