Oklahoma County Jail Inmate Search: Check OCDC Custody Before You Pay or Travel
Use the Oklahoma County Detention Center Inmate Search / JailTracker for current county custody. Then verify the booking number, charges, bond, court case and current jail rules through the appropriate official source.
OCDC is operated through the Oklahoma County Criminal Justice Authority, often called the Jail Trust. It is not a standard Sheriff-operated county jail, and JailInmateSearches.org is not part of OCDC.

How to Perform an Oklahoma County Jail Inmate Search
- Open OCDC’s official inmate-search page. It links to the current JailTracker system used to search people in Oklahoma County custody.
- Search the legal name carefully. Start with the last name and add the first name or other supported identifiers when the result list is broad.
- Open the individual booking result. Do not rely only on a search-results row or booking photo.
- Record the booking/ID number. It can help with mail, deposits, communications and record matching.
- Compare charges and bond information. Treat them as jail information, not final court disposition.
- Use OSCN for the court case. Match the case number, defendant and county before relying on court dates or warrant information.
- Verify again before acting. OCDC specifically notes that its current-custody results can change throughout the day.
What an Oklahoma County Jail Result Can Tell You
| Information | Why it matters | What it does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| Booking / ID number | Useful for matching the custody record and jail services. | A court docket number or Oklahoma DOC number. |
| Custody listing | Indicates the person is associated with the current OCDC custody system. | That the person will remain there through the day. |
| Charge description | Shows the allegation or hold reflected in the custody record. | Guilt, conviction or final prosecution decision. |
| Bond field | Can identify whether bond follow-up may be needed. | That posting one amount guarantees release. |
| Court reference | Can help match the booking to OSCN records. | The complete case history. |
| Booking photo | May help distinguish similar names. | Current appearance, guilt or final disposition. |
Current Inmate Search vs OCDC Daily Blotter
OCDC provides two different public-information routes. Use them for different questions.
Inmate Search / JailTracker
Use this when the question is whether someone is presently shown in OCDC custody. OCDC warns that results can change throughout the day.
Daily Jail Blotter
OCDC also publishes a daily blotter or booking report. A daily report is a snapshot and should not be treated as proof that someone remains in custody later.
What to Do When the OCDC Search Shows No Result
- Recheck spelling. Try the legal surname first, then first name and reasonable spelling variations.
- Allow for intake processing. A very recent arrest may not immediately produce the public result you expect.
- Check the Daily Blotter when useful. It can help confirm recent booking activity, but it is not a live custody guarantee.
- Check OSCN. A filed Oklahoma County criminal case or warrant may help confirm the jurisdiction and case number.
- Confirm that Oklahoma County actually has custody. Oklahoma City-area arrests can involve municipal, county, tribal, state, federal or another county’s authority.
- Contact OCDC. Use 405-907-1930 or 405-504-6811 when the matter is time-sensitive.
- Check Oklahoma DOC after state transfer. OCDC and Oklahoma DOC are separate custody systems.
- Check BOP only if federal custody is plausible.

How Long Does Oklahoma County Jail Release Take?
OCDC currently says release can take several hours after release paperwork is received, assuming no additional complications.
Before Someone Can Fully Release
- A warrant check must clear.
- Detention-issued property must be accounted for.
- Required release paperwork must be signed.
- The person must complete OCDC’s out-processing steps.
- Other holds or detainers can still prevent release.
Oklahoma County Bonds, Warrants and Walk-Thru Process
OCDC’s Warrants & Bonds page sends users to OSCN and ODCR for court and warrant checks and provides a separate process for qualifying non-custodial warrant walk-throughs.
OSCN / Court Record
Search Oklahoma County court records for open cases, court orders and warrants. Confirm the person and case number carefully.
Walk-Thru Warrants
OCDC says the non-custodial arrest warrant process moved to the jail. The schedule published for dates beginning February 3, 2026 is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. and 4:00–6:00 p.m.
Bring a valid state ID, copy of the bond and any required court or attorney documentation.

A current JailTracker result and an Open Records request are not the same thing. Use an Open Records request when you need an OCDC record that is not simply a current custody lookup.

When the Person Leaves Oklahoma County Jail
Oklahoma Department of Corrections
If the person has been sentenced or transferred into Oklahoma DOC custody, switch from the county JailTracker to the state offender lookup.
Federal Bureau of Prisons
Use BOP for federal prison custody. A federal pretrial detainee can sometimes remain in a local contract facility or U.S. Marshals custody rather than appearing as ordinary BOP prison custody.
Tulsa County
If the arrest or transfer actually involves Tulsa County, use that county’s detention system rather than continuing to search Oklahoma County.
Before You Pay, Mail, Visit or Travel
- Reopen OCDC JailTracker. Confirm the person is still listed in current Oklahoma County custody.
- Save the correct booking/ID number. Do not rely on the name alone.
- Check OSCN when court information matters. Match the case number and defendant.
- Verify every bond and hold. One listed bond may not be the only obstacle to release.
- Use the correct service account. NCIC communication and JailATM commissary are different functions.
- Use the Texas address only for ordinary scanned mail. Do not send legal, medical or valuable originals there.
- Call before travelling when the matter is time-sensitive. Custody and facility procedures can change quickly.
